Birdeye scores 4.7 on G2 and 3.1 on Trustpilot. Several recent Trustpilot complaints are about the contract.
The Birdeye Terms say a deal "will auto-renew for the same period of time as the initial term". Notice is due 90 days before the renewal date. An 8% fee is added at renewal.

How much does Birdeye cost?
Birdeye publishes no price. The Birdeye pricing page shows a quote form and no dollar amounts. The page describes its pricing as built around outcomes, with user counts left out. It also says you get one platform under one contract.
The Birdeye quote form asks for your number of locations. It offers six bands: 1 to 3, 4 to 9, 10 to 39, 40 to 249, 250 to 999, and 1000 or more. A banner on the page now sells AI Coworkers for brands with many locations.
The Birdeye cost explainer was updated on 14 August 2026. It says Birdeye is sold on annual agreements in most cases. It gives no dollar amounts, and it is written for brands with 100 to 10,000 locations. It does not mention notice periods or the 8% fee.
Other websites print dollar ladders for Birdeye. Those lists disagree with each other, and none comes from Birdeye. This guide uses none of them.
If you own one shop, ask for the 1- to 3-band quote in writing. To compare paying for the whole year with paying each month, use the annual vs monthly calculator.
Here is Birdeye's pricing form as of 28 October 2026.

Does Birdeye auto-renew, and how much notice does it need?
Yes. Section 2.3 of the Birdeye Terms renews the agreement for the same length as the first term. Birdeye must get written notice at least 90 days before the renewal date.
Sign for 12 months, and the renewal is 12 months. Sign for 24 months, and the renewal is 24 months.
The order form you sign can change this. If the order form and the Terms conflict, section 8.11 says the order form wins.
Count back 90 days from your Birdeye renewal date. That day is the latest day to give notice.
Here are four examples, using 28 October 2026 as today:
Renewal on 1 January 2027: notice was due by 3 October 2026. That date has passed.
Renewal on 31 January 2027: notice is due by 2 November 2026.
Renewal on 15 March 2027: notice is due by 15 December 2026.
Renewal on 1 June 2027: notice is due by 3 March 2027.
A notice sent on 26 October 2026 works for any renewal on or after 24 January 2027.
Section 5.1 adds that the payments in an order form cannot be cancelled and are not refunded. A missed date locks in the full renewal.
The Birdeye cancellation policy page does not mention the 90 days, the 8% fee, or auto-renewal. It sends you to your signed contract and to support@birdeye.com.
Birdeye's cost explainer and pricing page leave these out too.
Here are sections 2.3 and 6 of the Terms as of 26 October 2026.

What is Birdeye's 8% renewal fee?
Section 6 of the Birdeye Terms adds an 8% fee to your recurring charges at an auto renewal. Birdeye calls it the Innovation Fee. The fee goes into the annual invoice. You agree to it in advance when you accept the Terms.
Birdeye says the fee covers product work, better services, and inflation. The fee also applies to extra charges added during the term.
Two groups are exempt from the Innovation Fee. You signed with Birdeye before 1 April 2024. Or your agreement changes the Innovation Fee in writing.
Birdeye publishes no price, so these sums use an example amount. The $5,000 is not a Birdeye price.
Example yearly invoice: $5,000
8% of $5,000 is $400
New yearly invoice: $5,000 plus $400 is $5,400
Each $1,000 of yearly fees adds $80. Now say you add a $600 extra service during the year.
Yearly total before the fee: $5,000 plus $600 is $5,600
8% of $5,600 is $448
New yearly invoice: $5,600 plus $448 is $6,048
The Terms do not say how the fee works at the second renewal. Ask Birdeye to put the answer in writing.
How do I cancel Birdeye?
To cancel Birdeye, send a written notice that you do not want the agreement to renew. Send it at least 90 days before the renewal date.
Section 8.8 of the Terms lists the address for notices.
Open your order form. Note the start date, the length, and the renewal date.
Count back 90 days from the renewal date.
Write a short notice. Say you do not want the agreement to renew. Add your account name and the renewal date.
Email it to legal@BirdEye.com.
Mail a copy to BirdEye, Inc., 2479 E Bayshore Rd, Suite #188, Palo Alto, CA 94303, ATTN: Legal.
Keep the sent email and the mail receipt.
Ask Birdeye to confirm the end date in writing.
The cancellation policy page points to support@birdeye.com. The Terms name the legal address for notices. Send your notice to the legal address, and keep proof of the date.
This is not legal advice. Your order form can differ from the Terms, so read it first.
Where Birdeye still wins
The Terms ban review gating in section 1.5, so you cannot ask only happy customers to post. The free trial runs 30 days and needs no card.
Section 1.1 says setup takes up to 2 hours over a 4-week period. On Trustpilot, Birdeye replied to 97% of its negative reviews.
Who should sign, skip or switch?
You run one to three locations. Ask for the 1 to 3 band quote in writing. Ask for the length, the renewal date, the notice date, and the Innovation Fee. Start with the free trial before you sign for the full platform.
You are a customer who wants out. Find your renewal date and count back 90 days. Send notice to the legal address. If that date has passed, the agreement renews for the full term.
You buy for four or more locations. Ask for a quote by band. Ask Birdeye to set the Innovation Fee in the order form. An agreement that changes the fee is exempt. The order form wins over the Terms in a conflict.
You want to pay month by month. The cost explainer says annual agreements are the norm. Ask for monthly terms in writing. One reviewer says they were told monthly and billed for a year.
You are weighing other tools. The SaaSSwitcher Yext alternatives guide lists Birdeye among 15 tools for reputation work. Use the Switch & Save calculator to compare what moving would cost.
Birdeye reviews questions
Is Birdeye priced per location or per user?
Birdeye's pricing page describes its pricing as built around outcomes, with user counts left out. The quote form asks for your number of locations. Birdeye does not publish a rate for either.
Is there a free Birdeye trial?
Yes. The Birdeye free trial runs for 30 days and needs no card. You connect a Google Business Profile or a Facebook page. It covers Reviews AI only, not the full platform.
Can I get a refund from Birdeye?
Birdeye refunds you only if it breaks the contract and does not fix it. Section 5.2 then refunds the part of the term you did not receive. Section 5.3 sets the notice rules.
Name the clause, describe the breach, give the start date, and state the fix. Birdeye has 30 days to fix it.
Otherwise, Section 5.1 says payments are not refunded.
Can I pause Birdeye?
Birdeye lets you pause only when your contract has a pause clause, per its cancellation policy page. Closing early needs an early opt-out clause. Without one, the term runs to its end.
Are Birdeye reviews fake?
A rating page cannot prove one review is real or fake. G2 tags many of the shown Birdeye reviews as incentivized, with a seller invite as the source. Trustpilot's page says it does not fact-check reviews.
Read the one-star and two-star reviews before the five-star ones.
Is Birdeye worth it for one location?
Whether Birdeye is worth it for one location depends on the quote, and Birdeye publishes none. Get the 1- to 3-year quote in writing, with the renewal date and the fee.
Then compare it with what new reviews are worth to your business.
Where to start
Before you sign, get four things in writing: the length, the renewal date, the notice date, and the Innovation Fee.
If you already pay Birdeye, put your renewal date minus 90 days in your calendar today. If that date is close, send the notice this week.
Your order form can differ from the Terms, and this guide cannot see it.
