monday CRM pricing in 2026: why a 6 person team pays for 10 seats

monday CRM runs $12, $17, and $28 a seat a month on Basic, Standard, and Pro (billed annually), with Ultimate priced by quote. Every plan has a 3 seat floor, and the seat count above that jumps in fixed steps, so a 6 person team is billed for 10 seats whether the other 4 logins ever get used.

The 6,000 AI credits every plan advertises are a one time trial grant, not a monthly allowance, and monday's own outreach calling feature bills separately once they run out.

Pricing and plan limits below were checked directly against monday.com's own CRM pricing page and its support articles on 15 September 2026.

I read monday's pricing page the way most buyers do, seat selector open, comparing what it shows against what its own support docs say elsewhere on the site. The two do not agree.

The pricing page sells "AI credits: 6,000" on every tier like a running balance. monday's own plan types article, one click away in the same help center, calls that same number a one time trial.

That gap is the actual story here, more than any single dollar figure.

Why the number you see depends on which page you read

Four of the fifteen highest ranking guides for this exact search wrote a monday CRM price that does not match monday's own current pricing page. One prices monday work management, a different product, as if it were the CRM.

Two show $24 for the Pro plan, but the live price is $28. One shows Basic and Standard as $15 and $20 a month, compared with a live $18 and $25.

None of them say which numbers are wrong or why.

Here is what monday.com's own CRM pricing page actually shows; read live rather than pulled from a cached snippet:

Ultimate is the current name for what monday used to call Enterprise. monday's own pricing page footnotes the rename, but its own blog and several ranking guides still sell an "Enterprise" tier as if it were separate. It is the same plan.

Basic ships with no automations at all, and its mobile apps for iOS and Android only appear once you move up to Standard, listed there as "Includes Basic, plus."

A team that picks Basic to save money loses the phone app along with it.

The seat ladder that decides your real bill

monday CRM does not sell seats one at a time above the 3 seat floor. The purchasable counts, checked live in the seat selector, are 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, and 50.

There is no 4, no 6 through 9, no 11 through 14, and nothing between 30 and 40 or 40 and 50.

That means:

  • A solo operator cannot buy 1 seat. The floor is 3, so a single person pays for 2 logins nobody uses, $36 a month on Basic billed annually.

  • A 6 person team cannot buy 6 seats. The next rung up is 10, so the bill covers 4 empty logins.

  • A 32 person team cannot buy 32 or 35 seats. The ladder skips straight from 30 to 40. Nothing fills the gap.

Per seat price stays flat at every rung, so there is no volume discount for the seats you are forced into. monday's own support content describes the ladder as growing "in multiples of 5," which holds between 5 and 30 seats but breaks once a team crosses 30, since the next step is 40, not 35.

A Capterra reviewer, Marlon P., listed as an owner, put the floor problem in nine words in a review of monday CRM's pricing: "I can't purchase 1 seat as I am a solo operator." Another reviewer on the same page, bakka E., a 2 star review, said they wished monday would refund the subscription they felt they had wasted, a complaint that lines up with monday's own cancellation terms below.

What happens when monday CRM's 6,000 AI credits run out

monday's CRM pricing page advertises "AI credits: 6,000" on Basic, Standard, and Pro, and 12,000 on Ultimate, printed in a way that reads like a monthly allowance. It is not.

monday's own Available plan types support article states plainly that "every account receives a one time trial of 6,000 AI credits" on those three tiers, and 12,000 on Ultimate.

Once that one time balance is gone, the same article says you have to "purchase an AI credits add on to continue using AI powered actions."

There is a second contradiction sitting underneath the first. monday's own AI credits documentation states plainly that it "applies to the monday AI work platform only and does not affect monday CRM, monday dev, or monday service," while a separate support article for monday Smart Call, a CRM specific feature, bills every call in AI credits on every CRM tier.

Put those two pages side by side and there is no published monthly credit allowance for monday CRM at all, and no published rate for topping one up.

Every other guide covering this seed either repeats the 6,000 figure as if it renews or admits it could not find a CRM specific credit rate and stops there.

monday Smart Call pricing: 5 credits a minute, 5 numbers, four countries

Smart Call is the outreach calling feature monday sells as a named add on across Basic, Standard, Pro, and Ultimate, and it is the one AI feature on the pricing page with an actual documented rate.

monday's own support article for it states the cost directly: "5 AI credits per connected minute," covering the recording, the transcript, the AI summary, and storage.

Time spent ringing before someone picks up costs nothing, only connected minutes burn credits.

Two limits matter more than the per minute rate. An account gets up to 5 business numbers, and monday's own instructions say anything beyond that means contacting your account manager rather than self serve purchasing.

And Smart Call currently issues numbers for the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Israel only, with no number porting and no option to bring your own number from another provider.

A team based anywhere else can buy the feature and never get a working number for it. No number, no calls.

What else the pricing page leaves out

A few smaller gaps are worth a line each rather than a full section.

  1. Pro's contacts and deals cap is a genuine contradiction, not a typo.

  2. The live pricing page caps Pro at 100,000 active contacts and deals. monday's own plan types article, checked the same day, calls Pro's contacts unlimited. Both pages are currently live and disagree with each other.

  3. The self serve ceiling has the same problem in reverse. monday's CRM FAQ tells buyers to request a quote above 40 users. The seat selector itself sells up to 50 without routing anyone to sales.

  4. Storage limits, 5, 20, 100, and 1,000 gigabytes across the four tiers, live only in monday's knowledge base and never appear on the CRM pricing page itself.

  5. Prices exclude tax and are set by billing country, a detail monday states in its own footnote and one that matters because monday prices by IP address rather than a fixed list.

  6. Cancel an annual plan within 30 days and monday prorates a refund. After that, nothing comes back. Downgrades get no refund for the unused months, which is the policy behind bakka E.'s review above.

  7. Annual billing is charged as one upfront payment for the full year, not spread across twelve monthly charges the way the sticker price might suggest.

  8. Nonprofits get real, numbered relief that most CRM pricing pages skip entirely: 10 free Pro seats across monday's products, 70 percent off beyond that, and 33 percent off AI credit add ons, though monday's own CRM specific nonprofit page links out to a form rather than stating the discounted dollar figures directly.

Which plan actually fits your team

If you work alone, the 3 seat floor means you are paying for capacity you cannot use on any plan. There is no way around it. Weigh whether monday's workflow features are worth roughly $24 a month in seats nobody logs into before you commit.

If your team is 4 to 9 people, you are buying into the next full bucket regardless of your real headcount. A 6 person team pays the 10 seat rate; a 9 person team does too. Confirm the bucket price before assuming your team's exact size sets your bill.

If you are approaching 30 seats, check the ladder before you grow past it. The jump from 30 to 40 is the steepest step in the entire structure, and there is nothing to buy in between.

If you run a nonprofit, contact monday about the 10 free Pro seats and 70 percent discount before pricing the plan at full rate. The savings are real but they are not shown anywhere on the public pricing page.

If AI features are the reason you are looking at monday CRM specifically, budget for an AI credits add on from month one. The trial runs out fast. The 6,000 credit grant is one time only, and Smart Call alone can burn through it in well under a thousand connected minutes.

FAQ

Does monday CRM have a free plan?

No. monday CRM offers a 14 day free trial only, on any plan. There is no permanent free tier, unlike monday's separate work management product, which does have one.

How much does monday CRM cost for 3 users?

$36 a month on Basic, $51 on Standard, or $84 on Pro, all billed annually at 3 seats, monday's minimum. Monthly billing runs higher per seat on every tier.

Can you pay monthly instead of annually?

Yes. Every tier has a monthly rate, but it costs more per seat than the same tier billed annually, roughly 45 to 50 percent more depending on the plan.

Is Pro worth the upgrade from Standard?

Pro removes the 10,000 contact cap, raises the automation limit from 250 to 25,000 actions a month, and adds forecasting. Teams that hit Standard's contact or automation ceiling outgrow it fast; teams that do not will not feel the difference.

Does monday CRM offer discounts?

Yes, for nonprofits specifically: 10 free Pro seats, 70 percent off beyond that, and 33 percent off AI credit add ons. Nothing else is published. There is no general small business or startup discount anywhere on the pricing page.

Can you get money back if you cancel an annual plan?

Only within the first 30 days, when monday prorates a refund. Not after. Cancel or downgrade past that window and the remaining months on the annual term are not refunded.

Does Smart Call work with a phone number outside the US and Canada?

Not currently. monday's own support documentation limits Smart Call numbers to the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Israel, with no porting and no bring your own number option for any other country.

The real math behind the monday CRM sticker price

The advertised per seat price is the smallest piece of what monday CRM actually costs. It is a starting number, not a final one.

The seat ladder decides whether you pay for logins nobody uses.

The one time AI credit trial decides how soon you are paying for an add on the pricing page never spells out.

And the gap between what the pricing page says and what monday's own support docs say, on contacts caps and on AI credits both, never gets resolved.

The safest number is whichever one you checked last, on the date you checked it.
