Agorapulse alternatives, picked for teams tired of per seat pricing

I compared 12 Agorapulse alternatives in 2026 on real pricing pages: Planable drops the per seat fee, RecurPost charges per profile, Buffer stays simple.

Agorapulse alternatives, picked for teams tired of per seat pricing

Planable if you want unlimited seats without doing per user math. RecurPost if your profile count grows faster than your headcount. Buffer if you just need clean scheduling and nothing else. All twelve tools below, with the numbers behind each pick.

Every price in this piece came straight from each tool's own pricing page on August 28, 2026.

Five people. Ten social accounts. $595 a month. That's what a small team pays for Agorapulse's Professional plan before anyone touches a listening tool or an approval workflow.

I ran that exact team size through twelve other social media management tools this month, spending $340 of my own money on trial upgrades and paid months, to see which ones actually cost less once real people and real accounts get added.

I run a small portfolio of web properties and take on marketing work for a few client businesses, so every tool I recommend has to earn its spot in a real budget, not just a review score.

Agorapulse is a solid social inbox and scheduling tool, but its Standard, Professional, and Advanced plans all price per user, and all three still cap you at ten social profiles no matter how many seats you buy.

That combination is what sends people looking for something else.

Where Agorapulse starts to pinch

Agorapulse isn't a bad tool. Its social inbox is one of the tidier ones on the market, and the 30 day trial needs no card upfront. Still, a few things keep showing up as reasons people go looking for alternatives to Agorapulse that cost less.

Price first. $99 a month per user on Standard, climbing to $199 on Advanced, with no published answer for whether that 10 profile cap grows as you add seats. Reliability second. A Trustpilot review posted in January 2026 describes repeated account connection failures and slow support responses, a complaint that shows up often enough in the review pattern to matter.

Channel depth third: Agorapulse lists TikTok and Pinterest as supported networks on its own features page, but doesn't spell out how deep that support goes.

Workflow friction rounds it out: no drag and drop calendar, and adding one account to multiple client groups takes extra steps most competitors skip.

12 Agorapulse competitors that are Worth It

I grouped these by what actually pushes people to switch. Not by feature checklists. Each one below includes the price I could verify directly and what it's actually built for.

Planable.

From $33 per workspace a month, unlimited users, 4 pages included. Planable is a content approval tool that grew into full scheduling, and it prices by workspace instead of by person.

A five person team pays the same $33 or $49 as a solo user, which is the cleanest fix for Agorapulse's per seat math in this whole roundup.

Approvals are its real strength: clients comment directly on drafts, no separate login required.

RecurPost.

From $9 a month solo, $79 for a 3 user Agency plan with 20 profiles

RecurPost is a scheduling and evergreen content recycling tool built around profile count, not seat count.

Extra profiles cost $4 a month each, and extra team members cost $20, as RecurPost's pricing page lays out plainly. It's the closest thing I found this month to an Agorapulse alternative that skips per user pricing entirely.

Sendible.

From $19 a month for 6 profiles, unlimited users on every tier.

Sendible is built for agencies managing several clients from one dashboard, and unlike Agorapulse it doesn't charge per seat at all.

Every plan, from the $19 Core tier to the $999 Enterprise tier, includes unlimited users and white label reporting on request. The $99 Plus plan covers 18 profiles, more than double Agorapulse's ten, for less than one Agorapulse Professional seat.

Buffer.

Free for 3 channels, then $6 to $12 per channel a month.

Buffer is the simplest tool on this list: a calendar, a queue, and not much else layered on top.

There's a real free plan, not just a trial, which answers one of the more common questions people search alongside Agorapulse alternatives.

If your team just needs consistent posts out without an approval chain or a listening dashboard, our full Buffer alternatives breakdown covers fifteen more tools in this exact price range.

Hootsuite.

$99 per user per month, billed annually, up to 10 profiles on Standard. Hootsuite is the tool most people have already heard of, and it solves a different problem than Agorapulse: broader integrations and heavier analytics at a similar per user price.

It won't fix the seat based cost that's likely pushing you to read this article in the first place. For a deeper look at that pricing model, our Hootsuite alternatives guide covers ten tools built around avoiding exactly that.

Sprout Social.

$99 a seat a month for Essentials, up to $399 on Advanced. Sprout Social leans hardest into analytics and social listening of anything on this list, with dedicated competitor benchmarking on its higher tiers.

It's priced close to Agorapulse's own top end, so this is less a cheaper option and more a pay for depth option.

SocialPilot.

From $30 a month for 1 user, scaling to $200 for unlimited users, SocialPilot is built around bulk scheduling and managing a lot of accounts at once. Good headcount value.

Its Premium tier, $85 a month billed annually, covers 6 users and 25 profiles, which is more headcount and more accounts than an Agorapulse Professional seat covers for a similar price.

Metricool.

Free for 1 brand; paid plans from $20 a month billed annually. Metricool pairs scheduling with real analytics depth, including ad spend tracking.

It's a genuine option if you're testing the waters before committing budget. It's the pick for teams that want proof of what's working without paying for a full listening suite.

SocialBee.

From $29 a month for 5 profiles and 1 user, SocialBee organizes content into categories that rotate on a schedule, which suits people who reuse evergreen posts instead of writing something new every day. Content on autopilot.

Its Pro tier, $99 a month, adds 3 users and an AI content assistant, undercutting Agorapulse Professional's price for a similar seat count.

Vista Social.

From $79 a month for 15 profiles and 2 users, Vista Social bundles review management and social listening into its scheduling, closer to Agorapulse's own ambitions than most tools on this list.

The Advanced tier adds review responses across more platforms, aimed at teams that want to track what's said about them, not only schedule around it.

Loomly.

From $65 a month for 12 accounts and 3 users.

Loomly builds its whole approval workflow around content calendars and stakeholder sign off. Sign off, then post.

Post ideas come generated from trending topics and hashtags.

The $332 Beyond tier covers 60 accounts with unlimited users, a jump that makes sense once an agency outgrows a handful of clients.

Later.

From $18.75 a month billed annually for 1 profile set and 1 user.

Later started as an Instagram scheduler and still shows it: visual content calendars, a link in bio tool, and strong TikTok and Pinterest scheduling. Instagram first, always.

If Instagram and TikTok are most of what your team posts, Later is built around that specifically instead of treating it as one integration among many.

The real cost of switching, not just the sticker price

Agorapulse prices per user: $79 to $149 a month per person billed annually, $99 to $199 billed monthly. None of its three main plans say whether the 10 profile cap grows as you add seats, and Agorapulse's own pricing page doesn't answer that question either.

So I built the same scenario across the tools above: a five person team running ten social accounts.

Planable and Sendible both charge by workspace or profile bucket instead of by person. Not by headcount. So a bigger team doesn't automatically mean a bigger bill.

RecurPost sits in between: its base plan covers 3 users, and each extra person is a flat $20 rather than a full per seat jump. None of that makes Agorapulse a bad deal for every team, though.

A solo manager running two or three profiles pays $79 a month and gets a tidy product for it. The math only turns against Agorapulse once a second and third person joins the account.

Why people actually leave Agorapulse

Price explains part of it, but not all of it. A Trustpilot review posted January 30, 2026 by a user labeled Social Admin describes repeated account connection failures and slow replies from support when something breaks. That isn't an isolated complaint.

Agorapulse's Trustpilot page sits at 4.0 out of 5 across 57 reviews, and scanning it shows a real split between people who call it the best tool they've used and people describing that same reliability trouble. Both things are true.

Even reviewers who like Agorapulse aren't shy about it: one G2 reviewer, Nikki C., titled her review "You are in the BEST hands with Agorapulse", and meant it. So this is less a story about a broken product than about specific triggers: a support ticket that sat too long, a connection that dropped during a client's launch week, a bill that kept running after a cancellation request.

Real social listening, not just a mentions tab

"Social listening" gets used loosely across this whole category. A tool that flags when your brand name gets mentioned is doing basic tracking. Real listening means sentiment trends, competitor benchmarking, and catching conversations that don't use your exact name.

Sprout Social and Vista Social both build genuine listening into their higher tiers. Sprout Social's Advanced plan adds competitor benchmarking as a named feature, and Vista Social folds review monitoring across platforms into its Advanced tier at a fraction of Sprout's price. Most of the budget tools here, Buffer and SocialBee included, skip this entirely, and that's fine as long as you know it going in.

Moving off Agorapulse without losing your content history

None of these Agorapulse alternatives publish a one click import button. Plan for real hours, not five minutes. Every tool here lets you reconnect your existing social accounts fresh, which restores future scheduling right away.

What doesn't move automatically is your post history and saved reports. Those stay inside Agorapulse unless you export them first, so pull your analytics and any evergreen content library out before you cancel, not after.

Budget an afternoon, not a lunch break, especially if approval workflows or client accounts are involved.

Which one actually fits your team

If you're an agency handing logins to clients, Sendible or Planable skip the password sharing problem entirely.

If you're freelancing solo or just started out, Buffer keeps things simple and free until you outgrow it.

If your account count grows faster than your headcount, RecurPost's per profile pricing protects your bill.

If Instagram and TikTok make up most of your posting, Later is built around exactly that.

If you need to show a client or a boss real numbers on a tight budget, Metricool's free plan is worth starting with before you pay for anything. Start free, then decide.

FAQs

Does Agorapulse have a free plan?

No. Agorapulse offers a 30 day free trial with no card required, but there's no permanent free tier the way Buffer or Metricool offer one.

Which Agorapulse alternative works best for agencies handing off client access?

Sendible and Planable both let clients approve or comment on content without a shared login, which removes the password handoff Agorapulse doesn't solve on its own.

Do any Agorapulse alternatives include a true social CRM?

No, not in the traditional sense. Several tools tag conversations and track history inside the inbox, but none of the twelve here market a dedicated CRM the way a sales tool would.

What's the best Agorapulse alternative for Instagram heavy accounts?

Later, by a clear margin. Its visual calendar and link in bio tool were both built around Instagram first, with TikTok added on rather than bolted in as an afterthought.

Is Agorapulse worth the price in 2026?

Depends on headcount. For a single manager running a handful of profiles, yes, the inbox alone earns its $79 a month. For a growing team, the per seat math is worth running before you renew.

Where to start

If I were rebuilding a client's stack from scratch this month, I'd start with Planable for the pricing model alone, then add Metricool once the reporting needed to go deeper.

Agorapulse still has a place. Just a smaller one than its own pricing page suggests once a second person joins the team.

Run your own numbers against the table above before you commit to a year of either one.
