Pro, which n8n says is for solo builders and small teams, comes in two sizes on n8n's pricing page. You get 10,000 runs for $50 a month, or 50,000 runs for $120 a month.
The next plan is Business, which costs $800 a month for only 40,000 runs. You must host it yourself.
Starter is $20 a month for 2,500 runs. Prices are in US dollars, checked on 5 October 2026.
The n8n pricing model counts runs, so your n8n cost depends on how often workflows start. A run is one full pass of a workflow, from the first step to the last.
n8n's pricing page calls a run an execution. A workflow with 3 steps and a workflow with 30 steps each cost one run.
Users cost nothing extra, because n8n says every plan has unlimited users and workflows.
The answer
Under 2,500 runs a month: Starter at $20 is the smallest paid plan.
2,500 to 50,000 runs a month: Pro at $50 (10,000 runs) or $120 (50,000 runs) suits solo builders and small teams.
Over 50,000 runs, or you need company logins and Git: Business starts at $800 and runs only on your own server.

How many runs will you use?
A workflow that starts on a clock uses a Schedule Trigger. That is the step that starts a workflow at set times. Each time the clock fires, you use one run.
n8n's pricing page gives the same advice: count how often the schedule fires in a month. Here is that count for 30 days.
Schedule | Runs in 30 days | Smallest plan that fits |
|---|---|---|
Once a day | 30 | Starter |
Every 30 minutes | 1,440 | Starter |
Every 15 minutes | 2,880 | Pro with 10,000 runs |
Every 10 minutes | 4,320 | Pro with 10,000 runs |
Every 5 minutes | 8,640 | Pro with 10,000 runs |
Every minute | 43,200 | Pro with 50,000 runs |
Here is the math for the 5-minute row. One run every 5 minutes is 12 runs an hour. Twelve runs times 24 hours is 288 runs a day. Then 288 runs times 30 days is 8,640 runs. n8n's own example for this schedule says about 8,600 to 8,900 runs a month.
Add up every workflow, not just the busiest one. A webhook is a web address that other apps call to start a workflow. It uses one run per call. n8n tells you to estimate how often that call happens each day.
A schedule that fires every minute uses 43,200 runs in 30 days. That is more than Business includes (40,000), and it fits inside Pro with 50,000 runs.
n8n Cloud pricing: what 1,000 runs cost on each plan
Plan size changes the price of each run a lot. This table shows the cost per 1,000 runs.
Plan | Runs a month | Whole year price | Per 1,000 runs | Month by month price | Per 1,000 runs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Starter | 2,500 | $20 | $8.00 | $24 | $9.60 |
Pro | 10,000 | $50 | $5.00 | $60 | $6.00 |
Pro | 50,000 | $120 | $2.40 | $144 | $2.88 |
The math: $120 divided by 50 is $2.40 for every 1,000 runs. Moving from Pro with 10,000 runs to Pro with 50,000 runs costs $70 more a month ($120 minus $50).
It gives 40,000 more runs. So each extra 1,000 runs costs $1.75 ($70 divided by 40).
A team that outgrows 10,000 runs pays $70 more a month. It does not need to jump to Business at $800.
Paying month by month costs more over a year. On Starter, $24 minus $20 is $4 more each month, and $4 times 12 months is $48 more a year.
On Pro with 10,000 runs, it is $120 more a year. On Pro with 50,000 runs, it is $288 more a year. n8n's page calls the whole year option a 17 percent saving. The annual vs monthly calculator runs the same check for any price.
The Pro dropdown also lists a Custom plan with a custom number of runs.
n8n Business plan pricing: self hosted only, from $800
Business is not an n8n Cloud plan. n8n's pricing page says it is self hosted only.
Its FAQ says a version hosted by n8n is not available yet, and it offers a waitlist. The page describes Business as a plan for companies with fewer than 100 employees.
Business also has fewer runs than the Pro plan below it. Business gives 40,000 runs. Pro gives 50,000 runs. Business costs $680 more a month ($800 minus $120).
You pay that gap for company features. The Business card lists these:
Single sign on (one company login for every user)
SAML and LDAP (two ways companies sign users in)
Git version control (a tool that tracks changes to your work)
Multiple environments
Queue mode (a way to share heavy work across several servers)
6 shared projects
30 days of insights (usage charts)
The size you pick sets the price. n8n lists nine Business sizes.
Runs a month | Whole year price | Per 1,000 runs | Month by month price | Per 1,000 runs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
40,000 | $800 | $20.00 | $960 | $24.00 |
50,000 | $985 | $19.70 | $1,182 | $23.64 |
75,000 | $1,456 | $19.41 | $1,747 | $23.29 |
100,000 | $1,726 | $17.26 | $2,071 | $20.71 |
150,000 | $2,189 | $14.59 | $2,627 | $17.51 |
200,000 | $2,639 | $13.20 | $3,167 | $15.84 |
300,000 | $3,512 | $11.71 | $4,214 | $14.05 |
400,000 | $4,381 | $10.95 | $5,257 | $13.14 |
500,000 | $5,245 | $10.49 | $6,294 | $12.59 |

Even the biggest Business size costs $10.49 per 1,000 runs. Pro with 50,000 runs costs $2.40 per 1,000 runs.
Business has more rules.
Usage reports: n8n gives you a license key. The key contacts n8n's license server every day. That contact includes your number of production runs, which are the runs of your live workflows.
Instances: You can use one key on any number of instances (separate n8n installs). All their runs count toward one quota.
Support: Business is self-serve, and dedicated support comes with Enterprise only. Business gets forum support.
Going over: n8n says your workflows keep running. If you don't upgrade, they invoice any extra charges 45 days after the runs happen.
The FAQ prices this at 4,000 EUR for each extra 300,000 runs. That FAQ line is in euros, while the size table on the same page is in dollars.
Startups: n8n's page says companies with fewer than 20 employees can check if they qualify for 50 percent off Business.
What happens when you hit a limit
n8n's pricing page doesn't say what happens when a Starter or Pro plan uses all its runs for the month. A user on n8n's forum wrote on 23 February 2026 that workflows had stopped after the plan ran out of runs. A community moderator and a top supporter replied that you cannot buy extra runs on Starter or Pro. They said you upgrade instead, and the upgrade starts at once. These are forum answers, not n8n policy, so ask n8n before you rely on them.
Other limits work differently. n8n's docs say that when too many runs start at once, extra runs queue for later and start in the order they arrived. Starter allows 5 runs at the same time. The Pro card says up to 50.
Saved run history has its own limits. n8n keeps your newest saved runs so you can debug them, and it removes the oldest first. n8n's pricing FAQ says "Reaching a limit does not stop your workflows from running." Here is what each plan keeps.
Limit | Starter | Pro | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
Saved runs kept | 2,500 | 25,000 | 50,000 |
Storage for saved runs | 2.5 GB | 25 GB | 50 GB |
Days of run logs kept | 7 | 30 | Unlimited |
Longest single run | 5 minutes | 40 minutes | 40 minutes |

Is n8n free? What the Community Edition leaves out
The Community Edition is the free version of n8n. You can find it on GitHub and run it yourself. n8n charges nothing for it, so your only cost is the server.
n8n Cloud has no free plan. It has a trial instead, covered in the questions below.
If you register a Community Edition install for a free license key, n8n's docs say you get Folders, Debug in editor, and Custom execution data.
Single sign on, environments, log streaming, Git version control, and similar features need Business or Enterprise.
Agencies and freelancers often ask about commercial use. n8n's license FAQ says you may build and maintain workflows for clients and charge for that work. The rule is that clients get the results only.
They must not be able to open n8n and build or edit workflows themselves.
How much does self-hosting n8n cost?
n8n self hosted pricing has two parts. The Community Edition has no price from n8n, and a server has a price from its host.
As an example, DigitalOcean lists a server at $12.00 a month. It has 2 GiB of memory and 1 vCPU (one virtual processor). A server with 4 GiB of memory and 2 vCPUs is $24.00 a month. n8n's pricing page does not name a server size, so treat these as examples of what a small server costs.
The math: $12 times 12 months is $144 a year. Starter paid for the whole year is $240 a year, and Pro with 10,000 runs is $600 a year.
The server price is not the full cost. You also install updates, keep backups, and fix problems yourself. Business adds its $800 a month license on top of your server.
Is n8n cheaper than Zapier or Make?
It depends on how long your workflows are. Each tool counts something different.
n8n counts one run for each full workflow, however many steps it has.
Make counts credits. Make's pricing page says each action in a scenario (Make's word for a workflow) counts as one credit.
Zapier counts tasks. The Zapier pricing guide on this site has its price table.
Take a workflow with 5 actions that runs 2,000 times a month. n8n counts 2,000 runs, which fits Starter at $20 for the whole year.
Make counts 5 times 2,000, which is 10,000 credits. Make lists its Core plan at 10,000 credits for $9 a month for the whole year, or $10.59 month by month.
In this case, Make is cheaper by $11 a month ($20 minus $9).
Longer workflows raise Make's count, not n8n's. The same 2,000 runs with 30 actions each is 60,000 credits on Make, and still 2,000 runs on n8n.

Which n8n plan fits you?
If you are learning: Use the Cloud trial or the Community Edition. n8n's pricing page lists no student or personal plan.
If you are a freelancer with under 2,500 runs: Choose Starter. It is $20, or $24 month-to-month.
If your workflows run in production for a small team: Choose Pro with 10,000 runs at $50. Pick the 50,000 size at $120 once your count passes 10,000.
If you need company logins, Git, or separate environments: Choose Business at $800 and plan for your own server. Companies with under 20 employees can ask about the startup discount.
If you build workflows for clients: Check the license rule above first. Clients must not edit workflows.
If you have strict security rules: Ask for an Enterprise quote.
Common questions
Does n8n charge per user?
No. n8n says every plan includes unlimited users and workflows. You pay for runs.
Is there an n8n free trial?
Yes, and the Cloud trial needs no credit card. It allows 1,000 runs, 5 runs at once, a 180 second run time and 1 team project.
The Business trial lasts 14 days and needs a credit card.
Does n8n have a startup discount?
n8n's page says companies with fewer than 20 employees can check if they qualify for 50 percent off Business. It gives no other terms on that page.
How much does the n8n Enterprise plan cost?
n8n Enterprise pricing is a custom quote. n8n lists no price, and you contact sales for the number of runs and the cost.
Can you cancel n8n at any time?
For Business, n8n's FAQ says a monthly plan can be cancelled at any time and ends with the billing cycle.
An annual plan ends at the end of its year. n8n gives no partial refunds. The page states these rules for Business only.
Does n8n price in dollars or euros?
n8n sells in both. For annual Business contracts, the page has one payment form for euros and one for dollars. The prices here are the dollar prices shown to a US visitor.
What name shows on the card statement?
One Trustpilot reviewer said in April 2026 that n8n charges appear under Paddle's name, not n8n's. Trustpilot showed 49 reviews and a 2.9 rating on 5 October 2026. Check your first receipt for the exact name.
Where to start
Count your runs before you pick a plan. List each workflow, find how often it starts, and add the monthly totals together. Then choose the smallest plan above that total.
If the total lands between 10,000 and 50,000, look at Pro with 50,000 runs before you look at Business.
Plans and prices can change, so confirm the figure on n8n's pricing page before you pay.
