Our Analysis

Zoho CRM and HubSpot both start with a genuine free plan and grow into paid tiers with AI, automation, and support.

Zoho keeps its pricing simple: one published rate per tier, and no separate charge to get started.

HubSpot's pricing looks close to Zoho's at the entry level, but a one time onboarding fee gets added on Professional and Enterprise, $1,500 and $3,500, which changes the real first year cost by a wide margin.

Neither pricing model is wrong; they're built for different buyers: HubSpot bundles marketing, sales, and service into one platform, while Zoho keeps its core CRM lean and adds the rest of its suite as separate connected apps.

My experience

Reading both companies' pricing pages and help docs side by side, the biggest surprise wasn't the sticker price; it was how differently each one presents its real first year cost.

Zoho states one number per tier and stops there.

HubSpot's advertised seat price looks competitive until the onboarding fee shows up separately, and it's easy to miss if you're only comparing the per seat figures.

Scored against what a cost conscious buyer actually cares about:

  • Value for money: Zoho CRM 9/10, HubSpot 6/10. Zoho's total cost stays predictable; HubSpot's onboarding fee changes the math on Professional and Enterprise.

  • Ease of setup, based on documentation: HubSpot 8/10, Zoho CRM 7/10. HubSpot's onboarding is built into the paid tiers; Zoho leaves more of the configuration to you.

  • Feature breadth: HubSpot 8/10, Zoho CRM 7/10. HubSpot's bundled marketing and service tools cover more ground out of the box.

  • Security coverage: Zoho CRM 9/10, HubSpot 6/10. Zoho lists all five major certifications; HubSpot is missing ISO 27001 and PCI DSS.

Which tool is better

There's no single winner, it depends on what you're actually buying a CRM to do.

Zoho CRM is the stronger pick for small to mid sized teams that mainly need sales pipeline tools and want a predictable bill.

HubSpot earns its higher cost for teams that want marketing, sales, and service running from one platform and are prepared to budget for the onboarding fee.

If neither quite fits, our Zoho CRM alternatives and HubSpot alternatives roundups cover other CRMs worth a look.
